The Town of Gray would not function if not for the hard work our clerks do every day. This week is #MunicipalClerksWeek, and we want to say thank you to Carisa, Britt, and Judy (L-R in the picture). 🙌 We'll have another name to add to that roster quite soon, as our newest assistant clerk, Cassy Sheehan, starts with us on May 13. 🎉 Clerks are responsible for record keeping, meeting support, issuing licenses and permits, communications assistance, ensuring a smooth election process, and so much more. In 1984, President Ronald Reagan signed a proclamation officially declaring Municipal Clerks Week as the first full week of May. President Bill Clinton also reaffirmed this recognition with proclamations in 1994 and 1996.
